Stoned In The Shower
It’s a simple gift I like to give myself - to light up the holy herb, take a few minutes to stretch, and embark on a curated musical journey in a hot shower. To shake the anxiety that I can usually find crawling on my back, to let myself forget about the creeping pressure of some abstract form of “productivity”, to allow my thoughts to gently float through my mind. There is something about being in the shower that just makes music hit in a different way, and when you add a bit of ganja to the equation you create a perfect recipe for pure musical bliss, relaxation, and self-care. So, I thought I’d share a playlist of songs that are perfect for a stoned shower.
All of these songs speak to me in multiple ways. The lyrical content of the songs always provokes some deeper thinking, but the musical quality keeps me from tumbling too far down the rabbit hole. Each song has a certain atmospheric quality, perfect for getting lost in the steam of a hot shower on cloud nine. These songs make me feel good, they make me think. They help me reinforce positive thought processes, and realize the ways in which I am unkind to myself. To remember that I need love, and that starts with the way that I treat myself. I am not my anxious ticks. I am not a robot made for endless productivity. I am a deep, complex being. I love to sing and move my body. I love to use the spiritual tools that grow with us on this Earth. I love to take care of my hair, my skin, and my body. So try it out, if you’re able. If you don’t have a good relationship with cannabis, that’s okay. You can partake in my ritual without it. If you don’t have Spotify, that’s okay too. You’ll be able to see the list of songs below so you can use whatever platform you have.
So that’s it. Take a hit, put on this playlist, and hop in the shower. Take some extra time, it’ll be okay.
Make sure you follow me on Spotify, if you use that platform. Find me on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. And lastly, subscribe to my mailing list using the form below.
